Studio Policies
How to Register
Registration is available online, by phone or in-person. We strongly encourage early online registration. If you have trouble registering on-line, please call Blue Heron. Space is reserved only for those who have paid in full prior to the first day of class.
Arriving for Class
* Late arrivals may be refused entry to class. Please arrive on time or early!
* Please turn off your cell phone or other electronic device.
* Please let your instructor know of any condition that may prevent your full participation.
* Please refrain from wearing scents, fragrances, perfumes, etc.
Refunds: Full refunds for series are given prior to the first day of class. After classes have begun, pro-rated refunds will be given, minus a $25 administrative fee. Refunds are not provided for missed classes. Refunds, minus a 20% administrative fee, are given for workshops when BHW receives at least 48 hours notice. No refunds for workshops are given within 48 hours of the event.
Refunds are not available on passcards. Use all classes before they expire. Passcards can not be extended or transferred.
Drop-ins
Most series classes welcome drop-in students, space permitting. The drop-in fee is $20 for all adult classes, $16 for children’s and $24 for family (of 2) classes.
Transfers
Enrollment is transferable between series classes only during the first two weeks of class. An administrative fee of $25 will be charged for all transfers.
Passcards are not transferrable.
Cancellations/Make-ups
Blue Heron reserves the right to cancel an entire session of classes or a workshop when minimum enrollment is not met. Classes/Workshops may also be cancelled due to emergencies and inclement weather. When notified students may choose a refund or to transfer to another series or class. Make-ups are not guaranteed for missed classes.
Classes are held on holidays unless otherwise notified.
Substitutes
Blue Heron reserves the right to provide substitute teachers for classes, when necessary.
Other
There will be a $25 charge for all checks returned due to insufficient funds.

Only ages 16 and above may attend adult classes
Insurance
Blue Heron Wellness now accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield/CareFirst coverage for acupuncture services. A growing number of insurance companies will reimburse for acupuncture or massage treatments. Consult your insurer for the terms of coverage on your policy. However, full payment is due at the time of each treatment. A receipt will be given after each treatment for patients to submit for insurance reimbursement.
Payment methods
We accept checks, cash, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express for payment. We do not accept the Discover Card.
Confidentiality
Client confidentiality, as required by state law, is maintained at all times.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made no later than 24 hours before the time of the appointment for the treatment or the full fee will be charged. In the case of an emergency, please inform the front desk or your practitioner and this policy may be amended.
Treatment Suggestions and Policies
To get the most of your treatments and for the comfort of other clients, please turn off all pagers and cell phones during your visit. Avoid caffeinated or alcoholic beverages the day of your appointment and for at least 24 hours afterwards. If you are coming for acupuncture please refrain from wearing makeup or scented lotions or perfumes for the first few treatments.
Please be on time for yoga classes as late arrivals are disruptive to the class and don’t allow proper warm-up time for your body. We suggest that new students arrive at least 10 minutes early to their first class to allow time to prepare and speak with the instructor about injuries, pregnancy or health concerns.
Passcards are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Pre-payment Plan Purchases
Blue Heron Wellness offers clients the option to prepay for a series of treatments. The full payment will be collected by the time of the first treatment. If you choose to terminate treatment before receiving the total number of treatments that have been paid for, the amount remaining will be refunded to you after calculating and subtracting the number of visits at the regular price. It is expected that the total number of treatments paid for at the discounted rate will be performed within one year of the initial treatment.
