Wake Up & Flow

This class is taught by:

Persis Andrews

Persis Andrews is a long time student of Blue Heron Wellness where she has taken Kati Gimes’ yoga classes for many years. She decided to take the Blue Heron Teacher Training this past spring because she wanted to deepen her understanding of yoga. In her teaching, she balances the playfulness she learned from her grandchildren, the innovation she learned from keeping ahead of her high school students, and the focus she learned from Kati.

See what Persis' clients are saying:

"This was my very first yoga class and I didn't know what to expect....
The teacher was wonderful and made me feel welcome and confidant, with a lot of individual attention.  I will certainly be a regular student at Blue Heron from now on!"  Stacey P., 9/2016

Attended a yoga class Saturday morning, Mary Lou was the teacher and did a fantastic job. She was very attentive to all the students, and provided good direction. I felt great after class, just what I needed. Thank you!  Karen E  5/5/18

Hannah Leatherbury

Hannah believes that yoga guides people home – making them more self-aware and enhancing their capacity for self-expression. Her specialty is helping individuals learn how to release tension in their bodies, center their thoughts and restore their sense of well-being. Her classes incorporate restorative yoga postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation strategies for releasing stress and promoting healing. She has been practicing yoga for over a decade. She has been teaching since she received her training in classical Hatha yoga in 2009. She completed studies in Yoga Therapy in July 2011  and studies in Ayurveda in 2013. This year she will complete her 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training.
Hannah's Clients Say:

"Hannah had a beautiful , gentle and reflective manner of presenting mild yoga and meditation for her New Year’s Eve workshop. She incorporated mind body spirit and social connection in the practice using deep relaxation, guided meditation in a circular seating arrangement and shared some personal thoughts along with a lovely poem. In additiin, near the end of the workshop, she passed around dates and chi tea after which we all shared a meaningful word with one another. I was also very impressed with her kind gesture of recording our ending OM chant for Peter who was unable to teach with her because of ill health. In conclusion it was a very uplifting and relaxing way to close out 2017. You are blessed to have Hannah as a teacher at Blue Heron." Marsha O, 12/31/17

"Great TGIF class with Hannah. Perfect way to end the week. Lovely studio too." Jane G

"Lovely TGIF class on Friday with Hannah. Just what I needed to end the week. Easy asananas then restore and relax." Jane G.

Anna Wolf

Anna’s journey with yoga began in South India, where she explored the ancient traditions of Ayurveda and Vipassana meditation. Saluting the sun in the land where yoga was born revealed to her not only spiritual dimensions, but also the medicinal value of yoga for healing. After obtaining her RYT 200 certification through Blue Heron Wellness and becoming a licensed social worker, Anna has used trauma-sensitive yoga as a compliment to clinical therapies. Her eclectic blend of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin modalities enable students to cultivate awareness of self in relation to somatic experience, facilitating deep release and energy transformation via focused breath and movement. Anna believes the body speaks through sensation, and yoga is a gift that helps us listen to this voice and tend to its messages.
Come wake up with yoga. This all-level class offers vinyasa flow to wake up your body and get your day off to a good start and some restorative yoga to help you let go of tension. Vinyasa flow builds strength and flexibility and encourages cardiovascular health. Form, movement and breath work are integrated into carefully sequenced yoga poses. Prepare to work, restore, and move!
